About the project
A realm of dreams. Nostalgia for a past we never lived. Or have forgotten.
A contemporary art curator, once a singer in her youth, is selected to represent Romania at the Venice Art Biennale with a performance installation called “10 Things I Lost at the Mamaia Festival (10 lucruri pe care le-am pierdut la Festivalul Mamaia)”. Over six months in Venice, ten performers confined inside the exhibition relive real and imagined memories from the history of Romanian pop music. These stories may or may not have happened at Mamaia; they concern iconic stars, but above all the smaller artistic lives whose dreams remained unfulfilled.
