From the director’s note / Gabriel Sandu
Adrenaline (Adrenalină) travels back to the heart of the 2000s through the story of a dance group made up of three teenage girls who shocked an entire country. Their meteoric success lasted just one summer, but the exhilaration of standing onstage before thousands of people chanting their names bound their lives together. Twenty years later, they decide to reunite for an anniversary concert, offering an honest glimpse into their brief fame and all the controversies that followed.
The production revisits the aesthetics, sounds, values and obsessions of the 2000s through three powerful characters. Reflective costumes and dance beats accompany the three young women from the heights of fame into the depths of their individual lives. Addiction and toxic relationships intertwine in an organic story. Their reunion becomes an occasion for self-discovery, as the vibrant world of the 2000s transforms before our eyes to reflect the realities of the present.
